Either way, nobody in the north west region is better placed than Home Assist Healthcare to supply nurses who will put your mind at rest the moment they walk through the door.

Nursing Care Categories

The nursing services we provide are divided into three categories:

1. Short Term Care

Where nursing care is provided over a limited period to address specific short term nursing objectives.

  • Rehabilitation or recuperation directly after a hospital stay.
  • As an alternative to hospital admission following an illness, a fall or a minor injury.
  • As an alternative to hospital treatment for dementia patients who may find a change of location disorientating or distressing. Our nurses completely understand the challenges facing dementia patients and are experienced in providing the specific kind of care they need.

2. On-going Care

Where the nursing relationship needs to be maintained for a longer period to help manage chronic illness, injury or disability.
On-going care might be applied in response to one or more of the following:

  • Parkinson’s Disease
  • Rheumatoid Arthritis
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Spinal Injuries
  • Brain Injury or Tumor
  • Motor Neuron Disease
  • Cardiac Disease
  • Mental and Physical Disability
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
  • Alzheimer’s Disease
  • Ventilator Dependency
  • Cancer

3. Palliative Care

A holistic approach to nursing primarily concerned with the relief of pain and any type of physical, emotional or spiritual distress arising out of serious illness.

Palliative Care is often, but not only, applied when nursing patients are nearing the end of life. Home Assist Healthcare has special training and expertise in Palliative nursing care. Our Nursing Director, Mary Flanagan has a keen interest in this area and can offer expert advice and guidance.
